mAI Home ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

  • Account Information: Name, email address, and password when you register.
  • Profile Information: Optional age, gender, and profile picture.
  • Integration Credentials: API tokens for third-party services (Tuya, Tinxy) stored encrypted on our servers.
  • Contact Information: Email address when you contact our support team.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device Data: Device states, control events, and automation logs to provide the Service.
  • Usage Data: App interaction logs, feature usage, and error reports to improve the Service.
  • Device identifiers: FCM tokens for sending push notifications.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service
  • Process your commands and control your smart devices
  • Send push notifications for device state changes and automations
  • Respond to support requests
  • Improve app performance and fix bugs
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information to any third party.

3. Data Sharing

We share your data only in these limited circumstances:

  • Third-party integrations: We transmit commands to Tuya/Tinxy APIs on your behalf using credentials you provide.
  • Firebase (Google): Used for push notifications (FCM). Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information when required by Indian law or valid legal process.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on servers located in India (Microsoft Azure). We implement industry-standard security measures including:

  • HTTPS/TLS encryption for all data in transit
  • Bcrypt password hashing — we never store plaintext passwords
  • JWT-based authentication with token expiry
  • SHA-256 hashed OTP/reset codes

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Device event logs are automatically deleted after 30 days. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time (see Section 7).

6. Children's Privacy

Our Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.

7. Your Rights — Account & Data Deletion

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate personal data
  • Delete your account and all associated data
  • Export your data in a portable format

To delete your account, go to Settings → Account → Delete Account in the app, or email us at privacy@mai-home.in. We will process your request within 30 days.

8. Cookies

Our website uses essential cookies only (session management). We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes via email or an in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
